FOUR BIRTHDAY PARTIES
We always look forward to the summer birthdays so that we can all be around to celebrate them.
First, we celebrated McKay's 5th (July 18) and Ruby's 3rd(August 1) together at the cabin.
Ashley baked chocolate cupcakes for McKay and pink for Ruby, and all of the kids had a great time decorating them!

...came up with some great designs made out of rolled taffy, Smarties and licorice!
Adelyn did a great job also, along with all of the other grandkids.
After everyone was finished decorating, McKay and Ruby blew out their candles!

After decorating cupcakes, they all went on a scavenger hunt where the prize was a small gift for everyone! Ruby is holding up one of the clues!

Next, we celebrated Adelyn's 5th Birthday (July 20th, just two days after McKay's) at her home after our reunion, which was a rainbow party.

Hillary fixed a yummy lunch for all of us
She explained to us all about rainbows...
...and the different ways they are made!
One way was to pour milk in a pie dish...
...and then put three drops of the primary colors in different locations, along with dishsoap...
and watch the colors swirl together to make rainbow colors!!!
We also went on the patio with a prism to make more rainbows. Other ways she showed us was spraying water with the garden hose in the sun and then all of us placing our hands in paints of rainbow colors and making a very colorful poster!
That's a pretty good turnout of just family, including Hillary's sister's three children!

The last birthday we celebrated was Cole's 10th Birthday (July 25) at our home:
Cole's breakfast in bed eating a donut, which he requested!
The party dinner--pizza, corn-on-the cob and watermelon!
The kids all painted wooden animals and boxes; they love doing this type of thing!
Our three grandsons that were born within two months of each other--Benson (Ashley), Cohen (Tom) and Rett (Andrea)!

Fun Mom. Oh I miss all those cute kiddos! So fun to all be together this summer.
What fun to celebrate so many birthdays when you were all together! I can't believe how much those three little grandsons look alike! They are all adorable!
I agree with Laura. Those little boys are definitely related and the party looked like it was fun for everyone. You amaze me, Joyce, how you accomplish getting everyone together irregardless of the great distance between where your kids live all over the U.S.
