MUSEUM OF FLIGHT/SEATTLE and MEMORIES OF OUR CRUISE

After we disembarked in Seattle, a stretch limousine drove us to the Boeing Museum of Air and Flight, one of the largest and most comprehensive air and space collections in the U.S.—housed inside a six-story glass-and-steel repository building with over 15 rare aircraft and space vehicles, 28 WWI and WWII Fighters, 20 planes suspended in the Great Hall, Pres. Eisenhower’s, Kenndy’s, Johnson’s and Nixon’s Air Force One and Concorde.
Riding in our transfer bus, which happened to be a stretch limo!

This is what Dad's Air Force flight jacket looked like.  He said the cadets had to turn them back in when the war ended!
This was the plane Dad trained on and would have flown in the war if it hadn't ended 10 days before he was finished with his training!
The Concorde is a turbo jet-powered supersonic passenger airliner, and easily the fastest commercial airplane of all time.  The Concorde flew from New York to Paris in just under 3-1/2 hours, less than half the time it usually requires a commercial plane to cross the same distance.  First launched in 1976, the Concorde is no longer in service.

Some fun photo opportunities--a make-believe hot-air balloon...
...an astronaut...
...and in the flight path!!!

It was sad to have our trip end, but I will always remember the wonderful time we had together.  I love each individual family member, and the pictures below help me remember something special about each one:
George and his love of ice cream and cookies (also taking such good care of Dad on the cruise);
Laura's concern for all of us on the trip, as well as all of our lives;
Larry--always complimenting and loving what we were doing;
Beverly snapping wonderful pictures so that we could always remember our trip;
Jerry--so easy to get along with and happy-go-lucky at all times;
Shelly--for making my brother so happy;
Blair--his love of traveling and not missing a thing;
Denise for her positive attitude and being such a wonderful wife to Blair;
Ted and his enjoyment of the trip--I think we've got him converted to cruising!;
Beth for her fun ways and contagious laughter;
Mark--for the challenge that Rook's strategy brought him;
Natalie--for the wonderful experience we had working together in planning the trip;
And, last but not least, for Dad and his desire to keep his family close by giving us great opportunities to be together!!!
THANKS, DAD!  We will never forget this amazing trip!

That was such a special post, like Camille said! You made all of us feel so wonderful with your sweet comments. But definitely, also like Camille said, you need to add your great husband in the comments! He always adds a lot of life to the party!
