COHEN'S 3rd BIRTHDAY--August 19, 2012
It has been so fun watching Cohen grow up on a weekly basis, since he has been one of the few grandchildren living so close by. He was extremely excited for his birthday party, which included both sets of grandparents, and aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family

This is Cohen's Spiderman Cake--baked by his mother and decorated by his father!
As you can see he was pretty thrilled.
We all met on his family's deck and sang "Happy Birthday" before eating cake and ice cream.
His mom read his birthday card from Grandpa and me,...
And then the perfect present! Cohen LOVES tools, which was a pretty easy gift to think of.
While Tom played birthday party games with the kids on the lawn...
...and then "Musical Chairs..."
Where was Cohen? He was in playing with his new tool set! A real winner, I'd say!!
And then the perfect ending of a perfect day--a sleep over with his sisters and Cousin Izzy.
"Happy Birthday," Cohen. We love you very much!

RETT'S 3rd BIRTHDAY--AUGUST 26, 2012
Just one week later, Rett also celebrated his 3rd birthday! Sorry to say we weren't with him for his birthday, but we will celebrate later. This is a darling picture of Rett a little earlier in the summer. Rett is sitting next to his and Abby's new aquarium that Papa Doug bought them while we were in St. George visiting.
Rett, we love you very much, too, and are excited to take you birthday shopping when we see you next time!

Next, Benson, Ashley and Adam's little boy will turn three years old on Halloween. We're excited for his birthday also.

I can't believe how close in age all those little boys are. This is like repeating with Kent, Tom, David, and Ryan! What a fun birthday party--beautiful cake! Wow! Tom has so many talents! And, of course, that thrills a grandparent when they choose the perfect gift. That's when it helps to live close by so that you know them so well!
What a fun party and such an amazing cake. Tom and Hilary should go into the "theme party cakes" business!! Joyce, you are definitely becoming surrounded by your family again. It thrills me to see your grand kids together for family times since they have lived far distances from each other for so long. I agree with Laura, seeing your grandsons that are close in age does take us back a few years to the other four boy cousins.
