GEORGE'S BIRTHDAY--NOV. 2
When we were looking at dates for our cruise, we found this 12-night Venice/Mediterranean cruise with the dates of October 23-November 4, which would be good dates for both couples. Well, when we realized that George's birthday would be included during that time, we knew for sure that was out date!!! Looking into the cruise further, we realized that we would be in Florence, Italy, on his birthday!
We had a wonderful day in Pisa and Florence, and everyone in our group was so thoughtful in making George's day memorable. They all sang "Happy Birthday" the first thing that morning when we boarded the bus.
After we returned to the ship and went to dinner that evening, we had the fancy steak and lobster dinner that Celebrity always has at the end of the cruise, along with a Baked Alaska dessert for everyone.
In addition, Laura had ordered a special cake from the kitchen to celebrate his birthday. We invited everyone from our group sitting at other tables to come over and sing "Happy Birthday." This is George leading all of us.
George seemed really happy and appreciated everyone's good wishes.
Laura even had a birthday kiss for him!!
These are the other couples, once again, who we ate with us every evening meal. They couldn't have been greater--Cherlyn and Tom,...
...Martha and Bill...
...Anita and Darrell!
Here are the men at our table with our Head and Assistant Waiters--a good group of men!!
I hope you know, George, how much everyone loves you! You are a true "Southern Gentleman" always thinking of others and their needs. Doug and I had so much fun being with you, especially on your birthday!

What a perfect way to end our last stop in Italy! Now, onto France...

You are so sweet Joyce! I know my parents had the greatest time with you. Thank you for this fabulous idea, and motivating them to go!! What great memories (:
Joyce thanks so much for your kind and thoughtful commnents. You and Laura have done such a great job with your blogs. Joyce I know you have put in countless hours so that everyone could get a sense of the history and beauty that we experienced on this trip. The opportunity to be with you and Doug has created lifelong memories. The only way to have made this trip better is having our families with us so that they could experience this beautiful part of the world.
Thanks again for this blog and giving everyone an opportunity to enjoy our experiences.
George
